FINANCIAL AID VERIFICATION PROCESS
The Dallas County Community College District has started sending emails out to students that were selected for Verification. What is Verification? Verification is a process that asks students to provide documentation to verify and support that what the student and the parent reported on the FAFSA application is accurate.

STEP 1
Search your inbox for an email that has the subject line of: Please Continue your Online Verification Process. Below is an example of what the email looks like.

STEP 2
Once you have made an account and are logged in, this is what your account will look like. Each student's checklist will be different depending on the documents that the college may need from the student and parent(s) of the student. Each of the links listed under Document Name will need to be completed.
Student documents
Income Earned for Non-Tax Filers
Student Tax Information
Selective Service
Parent documents
Family Household Size
Income Earned for Non-Tax Filers
Parent Tax Information

STEP 3
Once the student has COMPLETED the document requests, they will receive a green check mark.

An error message, such as the one seen below, will pop up when a student clicks on either Parent Household Size, Income Earned for Non-Tax Filers, or Parent Tax Information. The student will not have access to these links. The parent(s) of the student will need to check their inbox for an email similar to the one the student received to complete registration for their own account and log in. Only then will they be able to access the links for the requested documents.

STEP 4
For the parents that did not receive an email, the student will need to click Parent Information located at the top of the page. Here they will be able to add their parent's email and click the link to send the parent a registration email to make an account. See below for image of the page.

***If there is no Parent Information tab, the student will need to call the Financial Aid Office of their designated college and have a financial aid officer manually put in their parent email on the student account. They can also text their respective Dallas County Promise representative for further details.

SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS!
